This artwork is a self portrait of myself as a clown. I used a selfie of myself and it represents how in society we feel the need to hide our true selves. I chose a clown because we often feel silly for being ourselves, either because of societal norms or wanting to fit in. I did a circus background so that me being a clown would seem normal, like many of us want. I also did this because sometimes a Circus is seen as "unusual and odd", but most of us are actually "unusual" behind the mask.
