My acrylic painting named "Satori" is inspired by the light that our powerful imaginations can shed on the world around us. Satori is a japanese-Zen term meaning 'a sudden englightment/sudden Awakening. The grey sky and the statue of myself represents the emotionless and dullness that life is without an imagination. However, the lightbulb(the lightbulb moment)symbolizes a sudden bright idea and creativity that has been constructed due to our wild and wonderous thoughts and dreams. I painted bubbles to represent childlike wonder/joy,northern lights for magic, the rainbow behind the castle and dragon to represent optimism/fantasy,autumn orange trees for energy/Enthusiasm and the blue sea which is often associated with open spaces freedom and inspiration. These are all qualities that I believe create a strong imagination.
