"A closer look" is a digital painting created on a wacom drawing Tablet. I like using hatching as a shading style, and i thought it was a good choice for this painting - to show texture and shape, but also to convey the detail in a human, the amount you can see if you take the time to appreciate it. for the style of this piece i decided to do more of a sketchy, stylized look, changing the style with each component in it. the hand is covered in words to Visualize how we work with our hands. the connecting lines from the hand to the heart represent how our emotions are closely tied to our actions through creativity and expression. the head cracks into stained glass, conveying the various parts of our mind and how important they are to each of us. people are so simple, yet so very intricate, all at the same time.
