In this artwork, the world divides between the grayness of the past and the warmth of memory. Through the window stretches a view of O’Connell Street, dim and untouched, like an old photograph stored at the bottom of a forgotten drawer. The city is colorless, stripped of the vibrancy of lived days, bathed in an almost ghostly stillness. Yet, within the soft shadows of his room, an elderly man is wrapped in memories and longing. The scene becomes a dance between the real and the imagined, between what is and what was. Seated in the comfort of his rocking chair, he travels to times that may never have existed but are, in his mind, more vivid than the gray world outside. Nostalgia surrounds him like a veil, and his space turns into a sanctuary where he, alone, transforms shadows into colors, absences into presences, and memories into an eternity.
