in pairs we worked on creating a 2D picnic blanket with the theme 'what a lovely day for a picnic!'. We were inspired by pop artists Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. We brought in our favourite food to draw, drew from our imagination, we drew our dinner at home, we drew ingredients (because we didn't have the time to cook before the picnic!) and we invited a special guest to our picnic and drew their favourite food. We had to guess from the ingredients what food people were cooking. Then we displayed our finished picnics in the school canteen. We were then inspired by the show 'is it cake?' and made our 2D artwork 3D. We used recycled paper, modroc and paint to create different food items in 3D. We displayed these in the School and are currently thinking of somewhere outside the school we could display our picnic art!
