This is Anything

For my artwork I used pencil and paper, simple materials but a big statement. My idea just popped into my head, like ‘imagine’ just pops off the page. The way I think of imagination is when you just start thinking something unbelievable. Some people keep their ideas to themselves, but I decided to express what I imagine and my thoughts exploded onto the page. In creating my work, I began by making a guide page to measure out my letters. I then used this to help make my letters exact. I decided to do this because art is not something that comes naturally to me, but maths and exact lines are. In this piece of artwork I decided to focus on my strengths and not worry about my weaknesses. Once I had my letters done, I let all my emotions flow into what some might call squiggles but can be interpreted in endless different ways. When adding a splash of colour to my composition, it didn’t all quite go to plan. I was originally going to use pink and bright orange for my letters, but my hand went astray. I adapted to that ‘happy little accident’ and I am delighted with what it turned out to be. To finish off the colour, I delved into the blues and greens of this world to show that there is more than one shade of everything. I hope you enjoy my artwork, and that it inspires you to use your strengths to be creative!
