The idea for this piece came from a doodle I drew in the back of my geography copy . I'm often day dreaming during school. I have had a habit of doodling butterflies since my transition year ‘Junk Kouture’ project. The theme of the dress my friends and I created was monarch butterflies, so since creating that dress, I have enjoyed drawing butterflies whenever possible. Unintentionally I drew the girl in this drawing with my features and looking back on the finished piece, I now consider it to be more of an accidental self -portrait. The setting of this drawing, the field of flowers, is a fictional place that I have created, and like to place the subjects of my drawings in, often. Artists that often influence my work, including this particular one, would be Georgia O’ Keefe and Salvador Dali.
