My artwork is a portrait of my sister inspired by her own Self portrait when she was using a magnifying glass to look at nature. I used mixed media to create the piece. I used block print to print the leaves in the background and acrylic paint for Katie. I then used my sisters coloured pencils to shade over the paint. I used a diamonte for her piercings. I then dipped the leaves in wax and placed some on the artwork but wanted to show falling leaves of autumn so attached some to a stick with fishing line and held the stick over the painting and took photos using my mums phone. The leaves are from my favourite tree in our garden. I wanted to show my imagination by using them a number of ways in my art.
