Rob's Art Club • group • Dublin

Our group is an after school arts club in Pope John Paul II in malahide. We have 14 little artists aged between 8 and 12. we decided to enter the competition and really get creative. we designed a giant robot. It's a real show stopper. We broke up into 5 groups and designed 5 different robots and took parts from each robot to create one giant robot. It's main feature is the huge hole in it's chest. This allows the children to have fun stepping inside and get their picture taken. We made the background from recycled cardboard. we then glued orange paper to the cardboard and then laid out white paper on top and Drew the giant robot out. Each group got 4 part's of the robot and we tried to keep to the same colour palette. When it was painted and dried we cut out the robot and glued it to the orange background leaving the feature hole in the centre. The kids learned how amazing it can be working in a group to complete something so big. Bob bot now stands in the lobby of our school.
