When creating this piece, I had no clear vision of the final piece or theme that I was going to portray. In the true spirit of Imagination, I let mine go wild; which led me to paint a vintage steam train which starts off as realistic and gradually deteriorates into a child’s wooden toy. The train encircles a brain; the brain which can transform ordinary moments and experiences into artistic revelations, as is represented through the shapes and graphics in the train carriages. The tissue-covered skeleton hands on either side of the canvas seem to protrude from the piece, the vibrant warm reddish tones in the palm of each hand reflecting the warm tones evident in the train of thought. To me, this represents the transcendence of an idea into a reality, from imagination into creation
