When I heard that this year’s This Is Art theme was “imagination,” I thought of my brother - a true daydreamer. This piece captures him at two stages of life: as a young child and as a teenager, surrounded by the passions and dreams that define him. From his favourite sports to his enjoyment for gaming, each element in the background speaks to who he is and who he’s becoming. The quote “to be loved is to be known” is at the heart of this piece. For me, it reflects the loyal bond we share, as knowing him so well is part of how I love him. This artwork is my tribute to his imagination, his growth, and the joy of truly seeing and understanding your family.
