AAEX Teens was set up in 2024 as a volunteer led youth group in Dundalk to provide a platform for young artists for creative exchange and collaborative development of their own ideas in the target age group 6th class primary to 3rd year secondary school. It is facilitated by adult artists of the local AAEX art group and is kindly supported by Creative Spark, Dundalk. In the spirit of exploring options of working together, AAEX Teen members Estere Racene, Fallon Jennings and Hazel Campbell, created the submitted artwork by first working on an A2 sheet of paper each, depicting a motive of their choice, which was swapped every 10 minutes for another person to add to it. After this the three young artists worked together cutting out elements of the sheets and putting them together as a collage. Interestingly the artworks on the three sheets are surprisingly coherent, despite three different people working on them.
