made this artwork because it reminds me of Slane Castle in Co. Meath where I live. Slane Castle is a place I know very well and have visited so many times with my family. I wanted to draw the castle surrounded by nature, with green fields, plants, and wild deer grazing on the land. The deer are important in my picture because they show how calm and natural it all feels. I like the idea that animals live freely around such a historic place. Me snc my family have went glamping across the River Boyne from Slane Castle and every morning we woke up to see the castle in the distance which makes it feel more special. Slane Castle is also exciting for me because it is where The Traitors was filmed. I love the show. my sisters and I play our own game of Traitors at home, pretending to be the faithfuls or Traitors and guessing who has been murdered. This makes Slane feel mysterious and imaginative to me. This artwork shows how I see co Meath where nature and history, wildlife and imagination all come together.
