The theme for my artwork is primarily nature. The reason for why I decided to make a samurai clay pot of all things is because of these two following reasons: 1. I like samurai and I really think their designs are cool, 2. In real life, Samurai were warriors that were really closely connected to nature. About these designs, as you can see in my image, it allowed me to put in more detail than I could have if i were to make a regular everyday head. Throughout the helmet are a few golden flower designs I made using a flower shaped shape tool to enhance the main theme of the art. I used clay, slip, knives, loop tools, kidney tools, round shape tools, flower shape tools, and black, red, and gold glaze colors. the artwork took about two or so months, i do not remember exactly, and during that time i put in a lot of details around the pot, putting as much work everywhere i could, making the artwork as best as i possibly could. at some point, there will also be some sort of plant growing out from the top, making the artwork even better, but we were tight on time so we didn't get to that before entering. anyways, that's it from me and i really hope i win, or at least come close to winning. thanks.
