I like looking for Birds nests and eggs shells and feathers. I really like birds. I want to write a book about them for my friends. my favourite birds are the curlew and the swallow. They all live on our farm during the summer. I used a curlew, magpie, whooper swan and wood pigeon feather and rolled them into clay and cut out their shapes. I have a kingfisher feather too but it was too small to use on the clay. Then I pressed some things into the clay fathers like shells from Clare island and a pine cone from the forest beside our house and rushes from our fields. I made a hole in them for string and then I let them dry. Then I painted them in colours I see on our farm and in the birds Feathers and I gave them a gloss of glue. I used jute string for tying up the vegetables from our poly tunnel and I used it to tie around the feather. Then I made little acorns from the clay and painted them too and put them on the strings. Then I got a branch from an old ash tree that fell Down in a storm on our farm and I tied all the feathers to it. I like to think that After me Catching these feathers from the Birds that now those Feathers catch my dreams.
