Throughout Autumn the preschool children began bringing in lots of Autumn leaves, acorns, conkers etc for our nature table. Autumn apples were added to the table and one day we decided to use these apples for a group art activity as autumn and the changes occurring outside had become an emerging interest for our children. The nature brought into our preschool room became the focus of our "Still Life" art activity. The apples were placed onto the table along with paint, brushes and paper. We discussed the colours of the apples and the children were then invited to each paint their own unique interpretation of the Autumn apples. The children all created a piece of individual art. During the painting the role of the educators was to observe the children and discuss their art with them and having completed the activity the art is displayed for the children to admire.
