A Bench in the Park I am eleven years old. I live in the countryside in Thomastown, Kilkenny. My favourite artist is Vincent Van Gogh who painted Starry Night. My piece of art is called A Bench in the Park. I painted it in October but I only thought about entering it into an art competition in January. It took me a few hours to paint it. I painted it with lots of coloured poster paints. The sky uses a lot of different shades of colours from blue, green, purple, orange, pink, yellow, red and beige. There are crops in a field in the background and there are trees growing on the hill. There is also a grey path going along the crops and up the hill. The centrepiece in this painting is the bench. Sometimes I paint a picture that I am really proud of. This is one of them. My favourite bit in this painting is the sky and the trees growing in the background. I love calm places to relax. That is what inspired me to create this painting. I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed painting it!
