My piece this year that i am entering was inspired by the mythical creature a wendigo, but with more of a natural, and halloweenish approach. The head is a deer skull wich took me about a month to complete, i first made the base out of an old cardboard box then i covered the eye holes with painted black eye mesh, i wanted to get the jaw to move when i opened and closed my mouth but i was unsuccessful, i then covered the cardboard with masking tape and painted it white, i added three horns to it. I wanted to add clay teeth that i made or little bird skulls that i also made to them but the horns turned out to be too heavy because they are made from wire tinfoil and plaster bandages. The fingers are made up of paper scraps, masking tape, they are then hot glued on a long pair of gloves that i bought from a € shop near me. I then have an under layer of a black long sleeve shirt and leggings, on top i made a shirt and shorts out of faux fur that i got from an online materials shop in ireland for me, for the legs i added foam to make them have a more animal appearance to them, the feet are hooves that i made from my old school shoes, i used foam to give them a hoof shape, the backs are covered in faux fur to give again an animalistic look.the staff is made up of three sticks i hot glued together, i painted the grip part black to give the look of rotting wood, i used fake plants & mushroom beads to give the look that the staff is still living though it is rotting, i made teeth, bird skulls from clay and added them on i added a potion jar onto it, it is just fulled with dyed glittery water.
