The reason as to why I decided to choice to created a wood creator using clay as bark can be applied onto the clay making a rough texture. The thing that inspired me the most when creating this creature was from a character I made when I was around 9 years old called Wood-Man where I write him in story’s with other characters I had created and even still I write in his universe, So I decided to remake him in real life. The process The process of making this clay piece of a wood bark was where I first flattened the clay so it would be easier to put textures using a real bark piece taken off a tree. After I finished moulding the clay into A bark like shape, I started to work on the wood guys arms and legs. I putted the both arms onto the wood guy however for the legs I made him sitting down and have the legs going Infront of the body so that it wouldn’t break easily. After finishing moulding the legs and arms, I was about finished my piece but I still had to use paint to give my piece some life. I painted the woods body a light brown and the starting point of the arms green so it looks like the arms were overgrown sticks that grow leaf’s on them. I painted the legs a dark brown to separate the body from the legs however I painted the wood shoes green. What Went Well I believed that I did well on the piece is how I moulded the clay piece to look like bark as well as I used actually Bark to portrays the texture of bark onto the piece. What didn’t went well; I believe what didn’t go well during my piece was the way the eyes came out as they don’t look too bad when only facing the front of the piece, when you turn the piece around, he looks very cross eyed as well I believe that some of my painting around his month is off as some marks were left bark.
