16-18 Category • 2026My work depicts a young fox pup, in the reflection of her eyes we can see the figure of a hunter holding a rifle. Her eyes widened in fear and innocence, aware of what is about to happen she does not move. You can see the sight of a rifle on her forehead which symbolises the inevitability of her death. I used long and messy strokes of colour for the fur to depict her fear and the natural skittishness of a fox. The only solid colours on the piece is the hunter and the sight. I created this piece to make a point to whoever says that fox hunting is "A part of the circle of life" or "natural". I wanted to show that recreational fox hunting is nothing but a cruel excuse for violence and should be banned completely.
