8-11 Category • 2026Hi, my name is Éabha and I’m 10 years old. I live with my Mam, Dad and brother Tadhg in Tipperary, but Ziggy is the most important house member. Ziggy is my dog, she is a golden retriever and is 3 years old. I love her so much. She is crazy, in a good way, so we need to bring her for lots of walks. Luckily I live on a farm and we have a forest next door. Ziggy makes me care more about nature and I want to make our world cleaner so that we can all enjoy it, especially Ziggy. I love the connection me and Ziggy have with nature. When we are on our walks we might see some deer, fox or hares, and Ziggy gets so excited which makes me so excited too. I love seeing how happy Ziggy is after walks and I want to keep her happy and healthy so that we can be together for many years. Bringing Ziggy on walks in the forest clears my mind and makes me feel calm and safe. I’m usually busy with sports and activities a lot of the time, and when something goes wrong or I don’t feel good about myself, Ziggy is always there to make me feel better. The portrait of Ziggy shows how beautiful and strong she is. She can do anything she puts her mind to. The love heart behind Ziggy shows how much I love Ziggy and how caring and kind she is to me. Our love for each other feels like the most natural thing in the world! I hope you love her too.
