The death of art appreciation

Commendation

I made this piece as a statement on the lack of art appreciation in the modern world. It is a retelling of The death of Socrates by Jacques-Louis David. I created Platos image in a ghostly manner as he wasnt present at Socrates execution but retells his teachings. I choose to omit all the heads except for Socrates and the executioner to create an intimate relationship between the two characters. I chose this piece as it is in itself an appreciation of art through Platos imagination.
