Commendation

This piece is a self portrait of me getting inspired I wanted to capture the moment when you have the great idea, the perfect image in your head when everything lines up and you know you’re going to love the finished piece. As I was thinking and came up with this idea and took a photo of myself from slightly below gazing into the distance. This is a lino print, I drew up myself and traced it onto the lino then carved out the image and used ink rollers to evenly spread the ink on the lino. After it dried I used coloured pencils for the eyes to depict what I’m looking at in my mind. I printed it in the bottom corner leaving space that represents the space in my mind that can be filled with ideas and inspiration.
