Commendation

For my art piece I took inspiration from my grandad Carrie’s grandfather clock. My grandad died when I was two so I don’t remember much but what I do is very special. I wanted to capture the beauty of the clock and breathe new life into it and all the memories. I love magic and using my imagination and I find the clock is so magical because once upon a time it would have been a tree and a home to many creatures so I like to imagine that even as a clock it’s still a haven for life with fairies and gnomes living inside taking bits and pieces from humans to build their home. I love art so much because it’s a way of telling stories and sharing feelings. Anyone can do anything with art and I think that’s real magic in itself. For my picture I used a mixture between paints, pencils and watercolours.
