This is a group project. Based on a TY macro photography project with the theme "Connection". The theme came about based on the work of a photographer called Eric Pickersgill who did an exhibition based on what he had observed as a disconnection in society due to increased screen time. Our idea was to disconnect from social media and to absorb ourselves in nature for the day. The work entered is a group project of a series of macro photographs taken in the Botanic Gardens. This work will be displayed in the school community and we will also be running a poster campaign to encourage students to disconnect and reduce the time spent on their phones and to engage with something outside of this- nature, family, face to face contact etc. The focus of this project was to pay attention to detail. To capture what is overlooked and what other people might not notice on first glance, finding the extraordinary in something ordinary. to fully engage with nature.
