16-18 Category • 2025This mixed-media mask represents the balance and duality found in nature. One half embodies the moon, expressed through cool silver tones, lace textures, and soft floral details to symbolise calmness, intuition, and night. The other half portrays the sun, using warm yellows, reds, and handcrafted rays to reflect energy, growth, and daylight. In the centre of the face it merges earthy elements like green tones, bark texture, pearls, and handmade flowers, showing how nature connects both sides light and dark, warmth and stillness. A small horn and organic textures hint at the wild, instinctive spirit found in all living things. Through these contrasting elements, the artwork explores the idea that nature exists in a constant cycle of opposites that depend on each other. The sun and moon, life and rest, vibrancy and serenity , all work together to create harmony.
