Using felting techniques, the pupils created this piece of art to reflect the important work of bees in our natural environment. They planted the area between the school and the Giants Grave with wild flowers & bulbs and were inspired to see the bees busy at work when they returned to school in september. The pupils have been learning all about biodiversity and how important our pollinators are to the local environment.

“This soft and richly-textured artwork beautifully celebrates the busy, important work of bees in a colourful, flower-filled scene. The pupil's real-life experience of planting wildflowers and then watching the bees return gives the piece a lively sense of authenticity and care. Each bee and blossom looks thoughtfully made, while together they create a lively scene for our pollinators!”
