The main part of the piece is the duality of life and death, the balance between mortality (the skull) and the vibrant nature of life (the flowers) This sketch reminds us that death isn't always a gruesome end but a continuation or transformation. The general motif of the plants growing from the brain symbolises hope and growth, as well as the connection between nature and mental well-being. Over all this sketch shows us; even in the face of mortality, there is a potential for beauty, growth and a renewal through mindfulness and self-care.
