8-11 Category • 2026I choose to paint a bee because I find them fascinating, how they protect their queen and know who to trust. Another thing that inspired me to do this art piece, was the importance of bees to our ecosystem. They help to pollinate the flowers and give us honey. I love to paint flowers and animals, so I thought a bee would be a good idea! I painted this with acrylic paint and inks to make it shine. The art is about a bee's life: collecting nectar for its hive, all the bright colours shining, is the joy of his life. This piece took me four days to make. My favourite thing about this art piece is the wings on the bee. The wings are possibly the daintiest part of the bee after the stinger therefore I worked hard on perfecting the details of the bee’s wings. It was very fun to make.
