We made our artwork in the school garden. We created batiks of our favourite animals that live in the woods and forest. There is moles, owls, centipedes, butterflies, foxes and even bears. We drew simple lines for our designs then traced them onto canvas. We used a flour and water paste and when it was dry we painted them. All the paste washed away, and the animals appeared like magic. Batik is a fun (and messy) way to make art.

“This lively collection celebrates the animals of the woods and forest, each one full of character and charm. Every square works as its own animal. We hope you enjoyed the fun of making this! Well done!”
