8-11 Category • 2026This is my creation. Their name is Sushi. I made sushi using wool. I like using wool because it comes from sheep and has a connection to nature. It will not harm our environment. If wool was buried it would decompose quickly and the soil would absorb nutrients from it, Unlike plastic which will stick around forever. I love creating Characters and I make up lots of my own comics and stories and use my characters in them. I give them names and I use them in different stories and I illustrate all my stories. A few months ago My gran taught me to knit and I started making teddies for myself, based on my characters. My friends in school saw them and they wanted one too so I have knit some teddies for my friends. I wanted to make a special one for my gran so at Christmas I knit her 'Sushi' as her Christmas present. I called him sushi because he is like sushi, the first piece of him, wrapped in another piece. I had to knit two different pieces and sew them together and then I used buttons to sew on the eyes and face. My gran loved him and hung him on her Christmas tree. When she took her tree down she hung him on a plant in her house so he continues to be with nature. I am going to keep on creating new characters and adding them to my stories and I am going to keep knitting teddies. One day I would love to have a teddy shop all made from my knitting.
