Painted from the waves at my local beach and Inspired by my Favorite piano song called “une barqe Sur L’oceon” This painting is a reflection of myself. the title is apart of the artwork, this song brings my mind to nature Every-time i listen to it, in particular the chaotic and peaceful sea. it makes me think about nature and its place around me, the beach, the cliffs, it all comes back to the sea for me. While i studied the waves at my local beach i found it interesting how something can look so innocent, powerful, ominous and mysterious all at once. I focused on a series of waves that were angled to hit a surfacing rock, each wave would violently crash into it before folding over, i thought it looked unusual. in this painting you can only see the wave and the perfect curve being broken by something unknown, its unnatural looking like the waves themselves appeared. The thing i love most about the sea is the movement, when observing from the surface i find this the most interesting. So i wanted to ensure that my painting could capture that. I did this by refraining from applying very fine detail, and applying the paint slightly messier and diluted. You might notice that the highlights pull backward showing the force of the wind that day, and the colours look like they did in the sun, Reflecting its surroundings. This painting is a product of how i Perceive nature and its life around me. This painting is more than meets the eye, just like nature.
