16-18 Category • 2026This painting was made after a Morning spent sketching with my art class in Colonel's woods. we had just finished studying impressionism and post impressionism and how these artists were concerned with capturing the fleeting effects of light on nature. I was struck at how the light filtered through the canopy of trees above and highlighted the rocks along the woodland path. when painting this scene back in the art room i was looking at how cezanne in particular used light and colour to achieve perspective. *Adam was absent from class today so i uploaded a photo of me (his art teacher) holding his painting. I can send a photo of adam with his painting on Tuesday.
