16-18 Category • 2026Coloured Pencil and Watercolour composition depicting a goldfinch. This piece is dedicated to my Grandfather, a bird which represents his perseverance in a time of illness. The goldfinch is an emblem of many biblical references, including their ability to cure disease; an ode to his strong sense of faith and devotion even in the toughest of circumstances. Hope is often found in the little joys of nature, and my have we needed it.
