Adriana is six years old and loves animals, nature, and making art. She cares deeply about the environment and often creates artwork inspired by animals. Adriana dreams of becoming a vet when she grows up so she can look after animals and keep them safe. For this art competition, she chose to create a koala sanctuary because she wanted to design a happy and safe space for koalas. Her artwork features a large eucalyptus tree for the koalas to climb and eat from, with one koala in the tree enjoying eucalyptus leaves and two more on the ground, one of whom is named Boboo. There is also a kangaroo playing beside the tree to show animals living happily together. Adriana added a colourful rainbow and a bright sun in the background to represent happiness and positivity. She also included a small safe hut filled with leaves and a drink to show that the koalas are cared for. All of the artwork is made using recycled and natural materials such as cereal boxes, toilet paper rolls, kitchen towel rolls, rocks, and sticks collected outdoors, reflecting Adriana’s love for nature and her wish to protect the environment.
