The Cup of Culture My artwork, The Cup of Culture, celebrates Pakistani culture and the love, warmth and connection shared through a simple cup of tea. Inspired by my personal experience of visiting Pakistan, I wanted to capture how tea brings people together and creates a special moment for sharing stories, having conversations and learning about one another. In Pakistani culture, tea is more than just a drink. It is a symbol of hospitality, friendship and togetherness. A cup of tea can bring families, friends and guests together, allowing people to talk, laugh and share their experiences. It shows how something so simple can create meaningful connections between people. In my painting, I have illustrated hands decorated with henna, a traditional teapot and a beautifully patterned cup. The henna and colourful designs represent the beauty and creativity of Pakistani traditions, while the pouring of tea symbolises generosity and the act of sharing. I used a green background to bring out the colourful details and patterns. Through this artwork, I wanted to share what I experienced in Pakistan and show how culture is kept alive through everyday traditions. It reminds me that even when people have different backgrounds, sharing a cup of tea can help them feel connected and welcome. The Cup of Culture represents my belief that culture is not only about traditions and patterns, but also about the love, memories and conversations we share with others. Sometimes, all it takes to bring people together is a cup of tea.
